RI TS Declaration for tuberculin storage

RI TS Declaration for tuberculin storage

I hereby certify that:

  • I have read and understood UK Farmcare requirements for tuberculin use and storage as laid out in the Practice operational manual.
  • I have received adequate training from my Practice to be able to perform duties related to the storage of tuberculin and the maintenance of the cold chain.

Training date: Trainer:

  • I know that vials must be stored in a fridge between +2°C and +8°C kept in the polystyrene box with the carton sleeve closed, in order to protect from light.
  • I know that tuberculin should be stored in the centre of the fridge away from the back and sides of the fridge. Tuberculin should not be stored in fridge door compartments or bottom draws.
  • I will ensure that daily temperatures are monitored for all fridges containing tuberculin.
  • I will ensure that weekly fridge temperatures and tuberculin stock levels are reviewed and out of date or perished stock is safely disposed of.
  • In case of any fridge temperature excursion I will follow the fridge monitoring action plan which can be found on the outside of all fridges containing tuberculin.
  • I know that during transport vials must be stored between +2°C and +37°C and protect from light for a maximum of 14 days.
  • I have ensured that all staff who regularly handle or use tuberculin are aware of its storage requirements.
